Ingredients for 8 people:
- 200g ladyfingers
- 500g mascarpone cheese
- 250ml fresh cream
- 350ml milk
- 70ml lemon-flavored drink
- 150g sugar
- 2 lemons (with edible peel)
- Fresh ginger
- Fresh mint
Ingredients for candied lemon slices:
- 200ml water
- 50g sugar
- 1 lemon
Making the Cream
Step 1: Whisk fresh cream in a bowl, and in another bowl, mix mascarpone cheese with sugar. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone using a spatula to keep the mixture light and fluffy.
Lemon and Ginger Tiramisu
Step 2: Add lemon zest and grated ginger to the cream mixture, mixing gently to blend the flavors.
Step 3: Prepare a soaking liquid for the ladyfingers by combining milk with lemon-flavored drink and lemon zest in a bowl.
Step 4: Start assembling the dessert by spreading a layer of cream on the bottom of a dish. Dip the ladyfingers into the milk and limoncello mixture briefly, ensuring they don’t become too soggy.
Step 5: Create a layer of ladyfingers over the cream by lining them up next to each other until the surface is covered. Repeat with cream and ladyfingers until the dish is filled.
Step 6: For the candied lemon slices, boil lemon slices for 2-3 minutes to remove bitterness. Drain the slices.
Step 7: In a pan, heat sugar and water. Add lemon slices and let the syrup reduce for about 5 minutes. Remove candied lemon slices from the pan and place on a plate.
Step 8: Chill the tiramisu and candied lemon slices in the fridge for about 2 hours. Decorate the tiramisu with candied lemon, fresh mint leaves, and serve.
Tips: You can use 3 egg whites beaten to stiff peaks instead of fresh cream. Replace dairy with plant-based alternatives and use classic ladyfingers.
