Hi, Lykkers! Located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur City Centre, the Petronas Twin Towers are among Malaysia’s most famous architectural landmarks.

Rising 452 metres above the city, each tower has 88 storeys and features a distinctive stainless-steel and glass exterior.

Their geometric design draws inspiration from traditional patterns while incorporating elements influenced by Malaysian handicrafts and weaving.

An Iconic Landmark

Designed by Argentine architect César Pelli, the Petronas Twin Towers were completed in 1998 after six years of construction. The floor plan of each tower is based on two interlocking squares that create an eight-pointed star. This geometric form represents ideas such as unity, harmony, stability, and rationality.

The towers are connected by the Skybridge on Levels 41 and 42. Located about 170 metres above the ground, the double-decker bridge is designed to allow some movement between the towers rather than being completely fixed to both buildings. This engineering feature helps accommodate movement caused by wind and other conditions.

Skybridge and Observation Deck

The visitor experience includes access to the Skybridge and Observation Deck, where guests can see Kuala Lumpur from different heights. The Observation Deck is located on Level 86, more than 370 metres above the ground, providing views across the city.

Visitors can also learn about the towers through digital displays and exhibitions as part of the visit. For those who prefer to admire the buildings from ground level, the surrounding KLCC area provides plenty of opportunities to view and photograph the towers without purchasing an admission ticket.

Entrance Fee and Visiting Hours

There is no admission fee to view the Petronas Twin Towers from outside, but visitors need a ticket to enter the Skybridge and Observation Deck.

For international visitors, the current General Admission rates are RM127 for adults aged 13–60 on weekdays and RM137 on weekends. Children aged above 2 to 12 years old pay RM65 on weekdays and RM69 on weekends, while children below 2 years old can enter free of charge.

Premium options are also available at higher prices.

The visitor centre is generally open from 9:00 am to 10:30 pm from Tuesday to Sunday and on public holidays, with the last admission at 9:30 pm. Mondays have limited opening dates, so visitors should check the official schedule before travelling.

Tips for Visitors

Tickets operate on a scheduled entry system and are subject to availability, so booking in advance is recommended. Visitors should arrive at the entrance at least 15 minutes before their scheduled time. Late arrivals may not be admitted, and tickets are generally non-refundable and non-transferable.

The towers are also accessible by public transportation. Visitors can take the LRT to KLCC Station, while buses, taxis, and ride-hailing services can also reach the complex.
