Removing makeup and sunscreen doesn't have to feel like a chore. I actually love the idea of turning the first step of my evening routine into a little skincare ritual.
Cleansing oils are especially useful for loosening makeup, excess sebum, and daily buildup before moving on to a regular face wash. Two options on my list bring their own approach to this step.

1. Hanyul Korean Artemisia Soothing Cleansing Oil

A cleansing oil with a soothing-focused concept sounds like a lovely addition to an evening routine. Hanyul Korean Artemisia Soothing Cleansing Oil features Korean artemisia, an ingredient often associated with calming skincare formulas. I'd reach for this when removing daily sunscreen or makeup. I would massage it gently over dry skin, paying attention to areas around the nose and hairline, then add water to emulsify before rinsing.

2. Dermalogica Precleanse Cleansing Oil

Dermalogica Precleanse is a classic-style first-cleanse option that deserves attention. Its oil-based formula is designed to help dissolve makeup, sunscreen, and excess surface oils before the main cleanser. I'd use it as the opening step of double cleansing, especially after a day wearing several layers of sunscreen or makeup. A gentle massage followed by emulsifying with water helps prepare the skin for the next cleansing step.
Both oils make a useful starting point for a double-cleansing routine. Hanyul brings an artemisia-inspired touch, while Dermalogica offers a dedicated precleanse approach. I'd choose one depending on my preference, rinse thoroughly, and follow with a gentle water-based cleanser. It's a simple way to end the day with a clean, refreshed feeling before applying the rest of my skincare.
